Roll on down to Banshees Bar for a raucous night of sea shanties and folk bluegrass with Haystack Mountain Hermits and The Salty Sirens. Lovers of swell sea shanties and rollicking singalongs, The Salty Sirens are Kristy Capstanfield (vocals and accordion) and Elyse Fishpatrick (vocals and whale facts). Since 2021, they have been rocking boats the country wide with their flavour of sea shanties, SHE shanties and sea songs with a modern, queer twist, and now these sapphic sailors are sailing into Ipswich to lead you on a musical journey through traditional and modern nautical folk song, tales of shipwork, daring adventure, defiance and debauchery on the high seas. Hoist the anchor and limber up those sealegs - these really aren't your grandpa's sea shanties! The Salty Sirens are proud to present their landlubbin' mateys of folk bluegrass renown Haystack Mountain Hermits. Inspired by their motto, “We Play We Sing We Fight” the 2023/24 Australian Folk Music Awards and 23/24 ICMA finalists Haystack Mountain Hermits transport you to an acoustic world of sensational blood harmonies, coupled with the band’s fine musicianship, which will leave you spellbound as they weave traditional favourites and original songs into an unforgettable live performance. J-Fest

J-Fest

Saturday, May 3, 2025 @ 3:00PMSat, May 3, 2025 @ 3:00PM

Knoll Studio , 6-8 Knoll Road , Tamborine Mountain

J-FEST: A Night of Music, Mateship & Support for Jacqui & the Sharp Family Music has a way of bringing people together, of creating moments that remind us what truly matters. J-FEST isn’t just another gig—it’s a night where community and music come together to support one of our own. Jacqui Sharp has spent her entire working life helping others. As a physiotherapist specializing in early childhood disabilities, she has dedicated herself to supporting children and families through some of their toughest challenges. She’s been there for so many, celebrating their progress, helping them find strength, and, in some heartbreaking cases, standing beside families when the fight was lost. Her work has never been about recognition—it’s simply who she is. She’s looked after countless kids in our community, often quietly, without seeking thanks or acknowledgment. Now, Jacqui and Dane are facing a challenge of their own, one that no family should have to go through alone. J-FEST is our way of giving back to someone who has spent her life giving to others. It’s a night to stand together, to show up for Jacqui and her family, and to let them know they are not alone. There will be live music from some of the region’s finest musicians, stories shared, and a community coming together in the way only music can bring out. Every ticket, every donation, every moment spent at J-FEST will go toward helping Jacqui and her family through this difficult time. Join us at The Knoll Studio for a night that’s about more than just music. It’s about love, support, and showing what community really means. Let’s come together and make a difference.

Friday, April 4, 2025 @ 7:30PMFri, Apr 4, 2025 @ 7:30PM

SunPAC, 470 McCullough St, Sunnybank, Qld

Multi-award-winning Haystack Mountain Hermits, based in SE Qld, is a band like no other. Fast growing on the Australian festival circuit, they delight audiences with their trademark blood harmonies, astonishing instrumental skills, captivating arrangements of traditional and original music and hilarious stage banter. Their music attracts young and not-so-young audiences who say the band’s onstage joy is contagious.

“Every song mesmerising”

“They are brilliant”

“The best show I’ve seen … and I’ve seen many!”

The family started busking in 2011 as they travelled around Australia for seven months. The kids learnt to play instruments in the back of the van as they travelled. The band soon collected busking trophies and national titles, including Australian Busking Champions and Tamworth Busking Champions.

They’ve been invited to play major Australian festivals including Woodford, Tamworth, Groundwater, Gympie Muster, Illawarra, and National Folk Festival and they were honoured with the “Festival Find” title at Illawarra in January.

Currently working on an original album, the Hermits look forward to sharing their new music with you somewhere down the track.

We acknowledge the Wangerriburra people and all Traditional Custodians of the lands and waterways upon which we live, tour and perform. Aboriginal songlines trace back through millennia and we acknowledge, with deep respect, that theirs is the oldest continuing musical culture in history. We pay our respects to Elders, past and present, for they carry the cultural wisdom, stories, traditions and dreaming.
